Hair Loss
Hair Loss
Hair loss is a troubling condition for both men and women. While it's normal to lose about 100 hairs a day, exceeding this number indicates a problem. To treat hair loss, we first need to determine the cause. Let's look at the reasons for hair loss:
Hair loss can occur during seasonal transitions, affecting many people, but it often resolves on its own after a while.
Genetically, both men and women can experience pattern baldness. Hair thinning starts at the crown of the head and then progresses to thinning.
You may have a skin condition that affects hair follicles, leading to hair thinning. It's essential to undergo a dermatological examination to determine if such a condition exists.
After childbirth, there is often a significant hair loss that starts around 4 months postpartum. This is because the hair that should have shed during pregnancy but didn't begins to shed in bulk after childbirth. Eventually, the hair starts growing back.
Major surgical operations, rapid weight loss, significant trauma, and stress can also increase hair loss.
Anemia, thyroid disorders, deficiencies in B12, vitamin D, folic acid, biotin, and zinc are also among the other causes of hair loss.
HAIR LOSS TREATMENTS:
Once the causes of hair loss are identified, treatments targeting these causes should be provided. Additionally, special hair treatments should be initiated to promote increased hair growth, strength, and thickness.
1- PRP Therapy: Blood taken from the patient is centrifuged in a special tube to separate the platelet-rich serum portion containing growth factors. This serum is then injected into the hair follicles. Treatment sessions continue at intervals until the desired results are achieved. This stimulates the hair follicles, leading to the regrowth of healthier hair. It typically yields more successful results when used in conjunction with hair mesotherapy treatment.
2- Hair Mesotherapy: Products containing essential ingredients such as vitamins, minerals, or amino acids necessary for hair growth and multiplication are injected into the hair follicles. Treatment sessions continue at intervals until the desired results are achieved. This stimulates the hair follicles, leading to the regrowth of healthier hair. It typically yields more successful results when used in conjunction with PRP therapy.
3- Topical Treatments: Products containing active ingredients such as minoxidil or procapil, when used in combination with other treatments, particularly in patients with male pattern baldness, increase the success rate.
4- Oral Treatments: Special vitamin supplements for hair nutrition may be taken as needed. Additionally, medications containing finasteride may be used under the supervision of a doctor, particularly in patients with male pattern baldness.
5- Autologous Micrograft Application: In suitable patients, pieces taken from the back of the ear with a punch biopsy are separated after a special application. The obtained numerous (progenitor) precursor cells are then applied to the hair follicles. This strongly stimulates new hair growth. The procedure is performed in a single session and can be repeated after 1.5 to 2 years if necessary.
