Hollows, puffiness, and wrinkles around the eyes can make a person look older, tired, and unhappy than they actually are.
These hollows can be structural without any specific cause, or they can be due to factors such as aging, significant weight loss, inadequate sleep, and fatigue.
Under-eye light fillers are a type of filler used particularly for hollows under the eyes, as well as for patients with both hollows and dark circles.
Containing both hyaluronic acid and antioxidants, multivitamins, and amino acids, under-eye light fillers not only fill in the hollows around the eyes but also improve the skin around the eyes by reducing existing dark circles.
Who Can Get Under Eye Light Fillers?
Regardless of gender, anyone over the age of 18 without any health issues that would prevent filler application can undergo the procedure.
The changes after the procedure are immediately noticeable. This allows the patient to achieve a brighter, healthier, livelier, and younger-looking appearance.
How Is Under Eye Light Filler Done?
Injecting filler into the under-eye area is a procedure that requires much more attention compared to other filler applications.
During under-eye light filler application, the entry point is numbed with local anesthesia. Then, a blunt-tipped cannula is inserted from the appropriate point. The filler is slowly placed onto the bone surrounding the eye in areas where there are voids. Since there is an anesthetic substance in under-eye light fillers, the patient does not feel any pain or discomfort during the procedure. Since the tip of the cannula used in under-eye light filler is not sharp, it does not cause any damage to blood vessels or tissues during the procedure. Since it is a sensitive area, most of the time, the remaining filler is placed 3 weeks after part of the filler is applied.
If additional filler is needed, it is appropriate to have it done 3 or 4 months later. The duration of the procedure varies from person to person but is typically around 1 year.
Possible Side Effects After Under Eye Light Fillers?
Since the hyaluronic acid-based filler used is compatible with the body, serious side effects are not expected. As with any injection procedure, redness, swelling, and small bruises due to bleeding may occur on the skin at the injection sites. These are natural and expected side effects. All of these effects typically diminish on their own within a few days.
What Should Be Considered Before Under Eye Light Filler Procedure?
About 1 week before the procedure, aspirin-like blood thinners should be discontinued, and vitamin E and supplements similar to green tea, which increase the risk of bleeding, should be avoided.
All painkillers and alcohol consumption should be discontinued 2 days before.
If there is a herpes or similar skin infection on the application area and its surroundings, it must be treated and the procedure should be performed after the treatment is completed.
If possible, no makeup should be applied and the face should be clean when coming to the appointment.
What Should Be Considered After Under Eye Light Filler Procedure?
Massaging and rubbing the treated area is not recommended.
For three days after the application, especially if there is swelling and bruising, exposure to heat due to reasons such as baths, hammams, saunas, tanning beds, or sunbathing should be avoided.
For the first few days after the procedure, blood-thinning medications and foods should be avoided.
Alcohol should not be consumed on the same day.
Strenuous exercise should not be performed for one day after the procedure.
Due to the risk of infection, the application area should not be touched with water, any product should not be applied, and makeup should not be applied on the same day.
Pools should not be entered for 2 days due to the risk of infection.
For 4 hours, lying face down should be avoided.
No skincare should be done on the same day. If skincare is to be performed, skincare should be done first, and then the filler procedure should be performed. If not done, skincare can be done at least 1 week after the filler procedure.
